At 204 State Street in Ann Arbor, our design envisions an adaptive reuse renovation of a 30,600 sq. Ft. building that merges historical charm with contemporary innovation. The project will create a vibrant, friendly environment where community members—whether locals or visitors—can gather, relax, and fulfill a wide range of needs. Inspired by the historical palette of the area, the Airbnb design will feature pops of color that energize the space while respecting its heritage. As well as pops of color, each room will include different themes to provide an individualized experience for each patron. Our approach will be creative and futuristic, echoing the dynamic atmosphere of Ann Arbor, and maximizing the business potential of the location. This space will not only draw in those who live further from campus but will also foster a sense of place and community by encouraging interactions among all who visit.
This was a team project, Floor 1 done by my partner and Floor 2 was completed by me.
