Meet the Designer!
Hi, my name is Isis!
I am a recent Eastern Michigan University graduate, excitedly exploring and enjoying post- grad life as time moves forward. This is my online portfolio showcasing my projects and experience through these 4 years earning my undergraduate degree in Interior Design. From a young age I have enjoyed interior decorating, moving around a lot as a kid allowed me the opportunity to express my creativity in a way that made my family feel happy and relaxed. That was my initial introduction to a small part of Interior Design. When I began the program, I quickly discovered the distinction between decorating and design. While I still love decorating, I’ve found my passion for design and creating captivating, functional, and inclusive spaces and projects. From the get-go, I’ve always enjoyed residential design. Instead of designing houses, I want to help people design their homes. Fueled by personal experiences within my family, I became acutely aware of the deficiencies in residential spaces, ranging from simple functional issues to non-compliance with ADA standards. That part of my life has led me to adopt a mindset that prioritizes the experience of those with different abilities to question whether the spaces I create genuinely feels welcoming to everyone.
